The purpose of this job is to plan, organize, and assign maintenance tasks to crew members. Trains employees and ensures the safety, quality, and compliance of workgroup operations. Operates a variety of equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Leads and coordinates the work of a group of employees; assigns and prioritizes tasks; guides employees to instruct or advise on tasks or assignments.
- Plans, organizes, and performs highly skilled tasks involving maintenance and repairs of all airport airfield areas, equipment, fencing, and grounds.
- Inspects completed work and ensures compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved plans, commercial airport certification, and all Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security regulations in terminal and airfield.
- Purchases tools, materials, and supplies and manages inventory.
- Performs snow removal and ice prevention.
- Creates and maintains records and logs.
- Works with airport tenants to maintain building and offices.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience (An equivalent combination of education, training & experience will be considered):
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Licenses or Certifications
- Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no airbrake restriction.
- Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of building trades.
- Safety standards and precautions pertaining to maintenance and repair work.
- Safety standards and precautions pertaining to operation and maintenance of a variety of equipment and tools.
- Common business software applications such as Microsoft Office, Google Calendar, and Google Mail.
Skill in:
- Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience.
- Maintaining detailed records.
- Operating and maintaining mechanical, electrical, construction, and plumbing-related tools and equipment.
- Estimating time and materials needed to complete jobs.
Ability to:
- Learn and retain relevant laws and regulations pertaining to FAA and TSA.
- Demonstrate and adhere to safety protocol and standards.
- Exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
- Effectively plan and delegate the work of others and train others.

Supervision Exercised:
No supervisory authority. Work requires providing guidance and training to others. This position may oversee work quality, training, instruction, and work assignments.
