The Position

BRF’s Shreveport Next is a venture to advance the recruitment of small to mid-sized businesses to relocate to or build facilities in the Shreveport-Bossier City area.

Targeted prospects: Advanced Manufacturing, Information Tech, Life Sciences, Aerospace/Aviation, Warehouse/Distribution

The Director of Business Recruitment will spend much time on the road doing lead generation prospecting trips arranged by a 3rd party.

The Director of Business Recruitment, based at InterTech 1 (BRF headquarters) in Shreveport, will likely spend a minimum of one week per month traveling.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Our ideal candidate will not mind being on the road an average of one to two weeks per month. He or she will be a self-starter and have the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Our ideal candidate will have the ability to walk into an executive’s office, connect with that executive, and clearly communicate the Shreveport –Bossier City value proposition to that executive via both a quick “elevator pitch” and detailed presentation tailored for that executive.
  • Our ideal candidate will be confident and organized enough to handle multiple project follow-up items after the initial meetings through getting prospects to visit our area in person.
  • Our ideal candidate will understand business and the resources we can bring to the table to both attract prospects and close the deal.
  • The candidate will embrace recruiting small to mid-sized companies.
  • The candidate will work well with regional and state partners in economic development.
  • A regional organization already exists which calls on site selectors and large companies, and our ideal candidate will not compete with that organization, but rather will embrace this role of calling on small to mid-sized companies.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a minimum of five years’ experience in a true “sales” type role and external prospecting trips that show tangible deals landed due to those efforts, preferably in economic development but not required.

Compensation

Salary: $100,000 plus significant commission potential & competitive benefits
